Aaron P. Peacock is a registered patent and trademark attorney and is experienced in all aspects of intellectual property law. Having counseled clients on hundreds of IP matters, such as on IP procurement, disputes, litigation and appeals, he has an in-depth knowledge of intellectual property law and its application to his clients, whether they are entrepreneurs, start-ups, small to midsized businesses or individuals. Formally trained in business, engineering and law, he understands the dynamics of each and how each intersects one another. He listens to his clients to determine their goals and then pursues those goals with aggressive and excellent representation. He believes that excellent representation means paying attention to the details. Representing clients in the same way that he would like to be represented if he were a client is a guidepost for him in his law practice. Whether representing clients in the United States Patent & Trademark Office, federal court or state court, he endeavors to provide smart, aggressive and excellent representation in a cost-effective manner.

IP Procurements

He has successfully procured utility and design patents for inventors and businesses in a wide array of arts and technologies – including in the mechanical, electrical, electronic, computer, software and business method arts. Advocating for clients in the United States Patent & Trademark Office, he has successfully appealed rejections to the Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB), securing reversals from the PTAB and obtaining issued patents.

Additionally, he has successfully procured trademark and service mark registrations for businesses and individuals in the United States Patent & Trademark Office in a wide array of business sectors – from such sectors as the clothing industry to medical services to food preparation. He has also obtained trademark examiner rejection reversals and appealed rejections to the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB). Further, he has successfully advocated for clients in the United States Copyright Office, obtaining copyright registrations for clients for various works of art, including literary, pictorial, musical and software works.

Disputes, Litigation and Appeals

Knowing that dispute resolution is usually preferred to litigation, he has represented many clients in IP disputes, successfully resolving the disputes to the clients’ satisfaction and averting litigation. But sometimes litigation cannot be avoided. In those situations, as lead counsel, he has successfully represented clients in federal and state court as well as on appeal in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Having extensive experience in IP litigation – from the pre-suit investigation to trial to appeal – he has tried IP cases in federal court in all federal districts across Texas. Advocating for IP right holders as well as those accused of infringement, he aggressively seeks justice for his clients in court.

When he is not advocating on behalf of clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. They are the love of his life. On his down time, he can be found playing hide-and-seek-tag with his four year old daughter, a game invented by her, or reading the book “The Cat in the Hat” to his two year old son – or as his son calls it “Cat-Hat.”
